Easy Piano Lessons – Five Tips To Help If You Struggle To Practice!
If keyboards are your thing, you will see many adverts pointing you in the direction of easy piano lessons. To those that have already trained in piano and come out the other side unscathed, it is fair to say there is no simple way to learn. However, you can make it “easier” by committing to regular practice early on. Developing this habit means playing becomes a bit more natural to you. Here are 5 tips to help you along.
1) You’ve Got A Friend. Learning piano can get a bit lonely. I was fortunate that when I was learning, I had a friend who had already started learning about a year before me. So he was already well on his way, and I would supplement my own training by going to his house for the occasional jam session. Whilst I was not up to his standard, at the time, it kept me motivated by seeing where I could get to if I kept practicing. If you have someone you can team up with in a similar way, I suggest you do it – it helps tremendously.
2) When Tomorrow Comes. We lead busy lives, and fitting practice into a packed schedule can be challenging. Sometimes you have tough decisions to make. Do I watch my favorite soap, do I go out for a few beers with my buddies, or should I practice? Oh well, I can always do my practice tomorrow. STOP! If you have resolved to learn piano, sometimes something has to give. Don’t put practice off – your friends will still be there tomorrow, and you can record the soap and watch at a convenient time. But stick religiously to your practice schedule and your results will move on in leap and bounds.
3) Move On Up. As you progress through your “easy piano lessons” it is vital to do just that – progress. Initially you may find you do quite well, then the proverbial brick wall appears. That’s when you need to break through it, or go over it. Look at the lessons that are coming up, and set yourself targets of where you want to get to, and by when. However, don’t beat yourself up if you hit a sticky patch. Keep at it, stay determined, and you will pop out the other side. Remember also, that a reputable online course will give you direct access to the tutor, so use this facility when you need to.
4) Time Is On My Side. One of the advantages of an online course is that you can learn when it suits you – and importantly, at a speed you are comfortable with. If you find you are not learning as quickly as you thought you would, don’t panic. There is nothing wrong with you, and this doesn’t mean you won’t master the piano. Like any walk of life, we all learn things at a different pace. You will quickly find the pace that suits you, and learning online means you are not pressured to move at an uncomfortable speed. Take your time, and enjoy the journey.
5) Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player. Make sure your practice location is conducive to learning. You want somewhere you won’t be disturbed, and conversely where your practice will not disturb others. The room temperature should be comfortable, and you should be able to go to your chosen place and start playing immediately. You don’t want to waste time setting things up – you want to be able to just sit down and get on with it.
Hopefully these tips will help you in making your practice feel easy. Piano lessons should be fun, and developing a regular practice regime is an important habit to establish early on.
